The Allahabad High Court (AHC) has released the official notification for the recruitment of Research Associates (RA) 2026. Interested and eligible candidates can apply online from 6th June to 20th June 2026 through official website of Allahabad High Court (AHC). The Allahabad High Court (AHC) recruitment is a good chance for fresh LLB candidates to gain the practical experience by directly working with the Hon’ble Judges at the Lucknow Bench, Prayagraj.

The selected candidates will receive a fixed monthly salary of ₹40,000 and will be engaged on a contractual basis initially for one year term, further which may be extended up to a maximum of three years on performance basis.

Eligibility Criteria (Educational Qualification)

Applicants must fulfill the following requirements:

• 3 year or 5 year LL.B. degree from a Bar Council of India recognized institutions.
• Candidates who are pass in LLB academic sessions 2024, 2025, or 2026 are eligible.
• 5 year LL.B. students awaiting results in 2026 may also apply.
• Minimum 55% marks in LL.B.

Working experience of computer applications, including data entry and MS Word processing.

Selection Procedure

The selection process consists of 3 phase carrying a total of 100 marks:

Phase 1: Academic and Co-Curricular Weightage (20 Marks)

Marks are awarded based on:

• English Language Performance
• LL.B. Academic Record
• Moot Court Participation
• Research Paper Publications

Candidates with strong academic backgrounds and participation in legal activities can gain additional advantages during shortlisting.

Phase 2: Screening Test (60 Marks)

Shortlisted candidates will appear for a clarify written exam carrying 60 marks. The test exam duration will be 1 (one) hour.

Phase 3: Interview (20 Marks)

Candidates qualifying the screening phase will be called for an interview. Final merit will be prepared by combining weightage marks, screening test marks, and interview performance.

Professional Job Responsibilities

Selected Research Associates will work directly under the supervision of Hon’ble Judges at Allahabad or Lucknow Bench. Their responsibilities may include:

Important Restrictions

• After completion of contractual term, they cannot appear before the Judge to whom they were attached for 2 (two) years.

• Candidate who involved in criminal cases, whether convicted or charge-sheeted, are ineligible.
