Telangana launches Rajiv Gandhi Civil Abhaya Hastam scheme

Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy announced in July 2024 that he would solve the unemployment problem by collecting vacant posts in all government offices before March every year. The project aims to simplify notifications and contracting processes. The State Government will prepare a work calendar to ensure that employment notices are sent before June 2 of each year. The hiring process should end on December 9. This structured approach aims to make the hiring process for state positions more open and accountable.

Vacancy data collection

Before the release of the employment calendar, the government will collect comprehensive data on vacancies in all departments by March each year. This step is crucial to planning an effective recruiting strategy.

Focus on unemployment

The Chief Minister highlighted the difficulties faced by unemployed youth in the state and emphasized the government’s commitment to address these issues along with reforms in the Telangana State Public Service Commission (TGPSC). Within three months of taking office, the government issued hiring orders for 30,000 positions, signaling immediate action to address unemployment.

Promote the aspirations of the public service

Encouraging change in mindset of the youth of Telangana, the Chief Minister urged them not to limit themselves to specific state exams but to aim for higher level exams like UPSC. Singareni Company’s initiative to provide financial assistance to students preparing for UPSC Civil Services indicates a supportive environment for aspirants, reinforcing the government’s commitment to educational support. The Chief Secretary expressed concern over the declining commitment of government employees to public services. He urged public officials to maintain integrity and effectiveness in their duties while serving the society.
