1. Spain’s Submer Group to invest Rs 16,000 cr in semiconductor sector in Madhya Pradesh

Spanish IT firm Submer Group stated it will spend US$2 billion in the semiconductor sector in Madhya Pradesh. The investment will be used to set up a semiconductor fabrication factory and a 1-gigabyte data centre, supporting India’s bid to become a worldwide semiconductor manufacturing hub. The project is in line with the purpose of Government of India to increase domestic manufacturing of chips, reduce dependence on imports and to attract foreign direct investment (FDI).
